Kueh Semprit (Indonesia)

Kueh Semprit is Indonesian butter cookie, usually piped in flower shape, topped with glazed cherry. This cookie reminds me of home - the comfort and familiarity, sometimes those are just what you need to carry you through. It has been the longest I haven't been home and seen my family. So many overdue hugs to give, some of those have turned into graves to visit.

I think this cookie is best enjoyed with tea. My favourite is jasmine, the one my mom always includes in her care package.
