Chocolate Chip (USA)

Let's start 2020 with the basic and classic. Flour, baking soda, vanilla, sugar, brown sugar and chocolate morsels - these are the ingredients of the Toll House Inn cookies, the original chocolate chip cookies by Ruth Grave Wakefield in 1938.




This batch was baked for my gluten intolerant friend, so I swapped with gluten free flour and browned the butter for a little extra flavour.



A lot has happened since the last post, and it's a little rough. But one, comforting thing remains the same, a fresh batch of cookies in the oven. This one, dunked in milk, turned a frown upside down.
